The Ambassador of Switzerland to Nepal, Her Excellency Dr. Danielle Meuwly, paid a special visit to the Kumar Balram Memorial Hostel operated in Chaurideurali, Kavre.
During the visit, the children residing at the hostel extended a grand and warm welcome to Ambassador Meuwly by offering bouquets in a traditional manner. Krishna Gautam, Director of Laxmi Pratisthan, along with other organizational representatives, attended the event. The welcome program, organized in the courtyard of the main administrative building featuring the welcome banner.jfif, brought immense joy and excitement to the children.
Following the reception, Her Excellency observed the various facilities and programs at the hostel. During her inspection, she toured the dairy farm, poultry farm, bee-keeping unit, goat farming, organic farm, vegetable farm, and fruit orchard, all developed under the hostel's "Education with Skills" campaign. Additionally, she keenly observed the Information Technology class (IT Class), Sports Hall, and various extracurricular sports activities integrated into the students' curriculum.
On the occasion, Director Krishna Gautam delivered a comprehensive presentation showcasing Laxmi Pratisthan's journey, covering its past milestones, present initiatives, and future strategies (Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow). Similarly, a special cultural program was hosted in the hostel's cultural hall, where the children performed welcome songs accompanied by melodious musical tunes and showcased various traditional dances.
During the visit, the Chairman of Laxmi Pratisthan, Bishnu Prasad Gautam, presented a token of love to Ambassador Meuwly on behalf of the organization.
Reflecting on her visit, Ambassador Meuwly highly commended the institution's dedication to providing free residential education, modern technological access, and practical vocational skills tailored for children from remote and marginalized communities. This prestigious visit is expected to bring further energy and encouragement to the organization's ongoing social campaigns and rural educational transformation projects.
